Os moradores do município de Itapé, no sul baiano, voltarão às urnas no próximo dia 29 de março para eleger o novo prefeito da cidade. O gestor reeleito, Pedro Jackson Brandão (PMDB), teve o registro de candidatura indeferido, já que as contas da sua administração foram rejeitadas pelo Tribunal de Contas da União (TCU). Pedrão recebeu nas urnas 66,7% dos votos válidos, mas com a decisão do Tribunal Regional Eleitoral (TRE-BA), os 8.720 eleitores do município terão que fazer uma nova escolha. Por enquanto, a presidente da Câmara de Vereadores, Luzinete Miranda, também do PMDB, segue no comando interinamente.
